The first charter of the New Year starts out with a bang. We left the dock around 8am to catch the negative 1.1 low looking for some tailing redfish up on the flat and as soon as we got up on the flat the sun goes behind the clouds for the next few hours making it hard to see the fish. If you can’t see them than start blind casting to the potholes and redfish on but after a few minutes into the fight he comes unbuttoned and the clouds started to move in thick so a little change of plans were in order so we start looking for so trout and boy did we find them. It was one after another anywhere from 13 to 20 inches long. We spent the last few hours of the trip catching at least 50 or more trout and then decided to call it a day and head back to the ramp and clean a few trout for some dinner.
